How Do Mothers Always Get It Right? (even about our careers!)

My mother had a saying: Kamala you may be the first to do many things, but make sure you’re not the last." - Kamala Harris, Vice President-elect

How do mothers always get it right?

Kamala Harris is the first! And looking at the record numbers of women elected this season, we know she won’t be the last!

EvolveMe is elated (tears of joy for Judy and Linda!) at Kamala Harris breaking a BIG glass ceiling and making history by becoming the first woman VP, and the first Black/South Asian person and daughter of immigrants in this role.

We celebrate the courage, persistence and political smarts it took to get to the steps of the White House, especially during these challenging times.

This is the bright spot you’ve been waiting for in 2020!

There have been so many stories of inspiration - our favorites are the stories of elderly women of all races (some in their 100s!) - particularly women of color - born before women had the right to vote, getting to the polls to make their voices heard.

Now these women are celebrating what’s possible for all girls in this country: to see themselves mirrored back in one of the highest roles in the country.

How are you going to pay it forward for other women now? In your career? In your family? In your community? In the world? We can’t let Kamala down.

She inspires us all to be brave and carve our own path:

"To all children, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message.

Dream with ambition.

Lead with conviction.

See yourselves in a way that others may not, because they’ve never seen it before.

But know that we will applaud you every step of the way."

Keep pressing forward, making change in your own life. If you can’t do it for yourself - do it for all the women who’ll come after you. They need you to take a stand and own your power!

Together, we can inspire enduring change.

Think about what’s more possible for YOU, seeing this female role model in the White House. As momentous as this is for our country, what doors are opening for you personally now?

Need a community who will applaud you every step of the way? Get on the WAITING LIST for the 2012 Reinvention Collective -- a cohort training program for women in midlife in career transition.

The fall’s cohort sold quickly! Women in the Reinvention Collective have their sights on meaningful work: getting called back from furlough, landing interviews and jobs, and guest speaking as though leaders on podcasts and at conferences!
